MC Mining Limited, an Australian company established in 1979 and headquartered in Mount Pleasant, along with its associated entities, is engaged in the full lifecycle of metallurgical and thermal coal projects across South Africa, from acquisition and exploration to development and operation. Key among its ventures is the Uitkomst Colliery, a metallurgical and thermal coal site in KwaZulu Natal. Within the Limpopo province, the company manages the Makhado project, extracting hard coking and thermal coal from the Soutpansberg coalfield, and the Vele Colliery, a semi-soft coking and thermal coal mine situated west of Musina. Additionally, MC Mining's Limpopo portfolio includes three other coking and thermal coal developments: Chapudi, Generaal, and Mopane.
