Australia's Westpac first-half profit growth misses estimates on margin pressure

Westpac Banking Corp reported ​weaker-than-expected growth in its first-half net ‌profit on Tuesday, hurt by lending competition, higher credit impairment charges and lower Treasury income, which ​also squeezed the lender's margins.
